Natural caffeine is extracted from natural plants such as tea, coffee. Lt is used as food additive and also an important raw material in pharmaceutical industry.
Caffeine is a white or slightly yellow powder, and in certain case in the form of a silky crystalline, odorless, bitter taste and easily soluble in hot water and chloroform.

A small dosage of caffeine (ie. 50 to 200 mg) is sufficient to exert as elective stimulation on the cerebral cortex. Then one's mind and thought become clearer and keener, and one is found to be more vigorous. So caffeine has now become one of the most widely used food additive, indispensable to such light drinks as cola-type beverages. The caffeine in these drinks either originates from the ingredients used or is an additive derived from the product of decaffeination

Natural caffeine can be used in cosmetics.
